Weird Things Grownups (?) Say

With their credibility and competence ratings in the tank Bush, Chaney and Gonzales continue to use the phrase “the American people want...” These three officials are so out of touch with the American people they have no idea what we want. If they did, they would all resign!

Republican strategists, looking very earnest, continue to say “the Democrats are in charge why haven’t they …” as though, in the four and one half months Democrats have been in charge they should have accomplished wonders. They totally ignore the abysmal record of the Republicans during the six years they were in charge.

Conservatives continue to complain about the “liberal press.” Haven’t they noticed that most of today’s press is owned by big business which supports conservatives? Think about it, do you really believe that big business goes against its own interests? If you pay close attention to what goes on with the press you will find that important issues are ignored or mentioned once and then buried. The so called liberal issues that get a lot of space are not so much important as they are distracting and divisive. It’s the old slight of hand routine, getting people to look one place while you slip something over in another place.

Many otherwise bright people immediately start talking about Clinton’s wrong doing whenever the subject of this administration’s actions is brought up. When did one man’s transgressions ever justify another man’s wrongs? Remember the old, “he did it first” chant in elementary school? Surely as grownups we don’t still think that way!
