Like the morning after a one night stand, some of the over-indulging Obama party-goers are awakening to the realization that he doesn’t look so pretty in the stark light of day.
Tom Brokaw, who gave up any pretense of balance on election eve and went all out for Obama, has decided after the election that we actually don’t know that much about the man we elected. The major media turned itself into a fetid pool of liberal bias because of its blind desire to elect Obama is now showing some misgivings in certain corners. The Washington Post reported that it had discovered - surprise, surprise – its paper had reported many more positive articles about Obama than McCain during the campaign. The media’s Obama-worship will surely come back to haunt it as readers become wary of taking news that has a bent perspective. In fact, we have already seen a drop in readership for the big rags like the repulsive New York Times. Some business types, who loved his style during the run-up, are deciding his idea of raising the capital gains tax actually might not be such a great idea right now. One contributing businessman pondered why Obama didn’t appoint to his financial advisor staff a single person who had ever run a business. Others are put-off by Obama’s remarks that the deficit is not really that big a deal and takes second priority to his social welfare programs, such as extending unemployment benefits, and bailout of the auto industry.
