A Drudge Report piece adds to my worries about the steady decline of our Education System, if you want to call the government bureaucracy, stifling obstructive unions and lifetime tenured teachers a system. A New York secondary school principal issued a memo chastising his teachers for failing too many students. He informed them that, if they are passing too few of their students, they are not designing their classes to “meet the students’ abilities.” That this will set their students up for failure” and, at the same time, limit the “teachers’ success as a professional." Yikes; talk about dumbing down our youth. This principal actually thinks sliding students through school will help them succeed in life. New motto for teachers: Slide em through, dumb em down, everybody's happy.

Oh yes, one final note: Teachers at the New York school will receive $3,000 bonuses if their school improves.
